This advanced drawing and painting program emphasizes seeing, understanding and representing the figure in a classical manner. Live models are scheduled two mornings per week with 2-3 week extended poses. All instruction is on an individual level with the instructor present Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

This class is designed for beginners. Students will work on individual and group projects making functional and non-functional objects using hand building methods. A wide variety of decorating techniques will be introduced. An intro to wheel throwing will be offered for the more advanced students.
Basic design and fabrication of jewelry in sterling silver with semi-precious gem stones. The course will cover use of hand tools, sawing, filing, soldering, drilling, polishing, assembling rings and pendants with bezel and prong settings. Shop safety and use of torches, polishing machines, ultrasonic and steam cleaning will be covered.

Examination of the structural and expressive factors of the figure and a look at their interrelation with the drawing. The use of line drawing, planes and masses, foreshortening and anatomy are used to aid in drawing the nude and draped figure.
