Covers basic tools and more advanced features of the program including filters and masks, creating and altering patterns, and more to create logos, and other two-dimensional art. Illustrator is also used as a powerful Fine Art & Illustration tool. Various line techniques, access to almost any color imaginable and textures are also explored.

Focus on your personal visual concepts in image-making in a workshop type atmosphere. THe course will examine drawing as an act of producing independent works of art. Instruction will reinforce the formal elements of art such as line, shape, form, texture, space, perspective, composition and expression. Materials will include pencil, charcoal, pen & ink, scratch board among others.

The technique of sequential artwork for children’s books and markets is emphasized using traditional and non-traditional stories, and project assignments. Consistent style, design and compatibility of an illustration to the story will be stressed.

Instructor: Christine Myshka
Examination of the structural and expressive factors of the figure and a look at their interrelation with the drawing. The use of line drawing, planes and masses, foreshortening and anatomy are used to aid in drawing the nude and draped figure.

Instructor: Kenneth Schwarz
Explore the use of watercolor and markers combined to achieve professional results. Examples will be shown on practical applications of the medium. Watercolors combined with markers and marker pen can produce spectacular results by using different papers and rendering styles.
