The art of Illustration, so widely used in books and magazines, is also used in advertising, television and in promotional material for agencies and studios. A highly competitive major, illustration requires the development of strong skills in drawing and painting in a variety of media and techniques. The student will be encouraged to develop the technical and conceptual skills necessary to prepare professional quality portfolio samples needed to embark on a career as an illustrator. The prescribed program includes drawing, painting, composition, life drawing and courses in computer technology and digital illustration.
