duCret in the Digital Age

Frank Falotico, director, duCret school of art

First,  let me welcome you to the duCret Schools revised website, ducret.edu. I hope you’ll take some time to look around here at all of the wonderful opportunities duCret has to offer, not only to post secondary students considering a career in art, but also for the seasoned professional who wants to hone a skill or advance their career- or, to the casual artists looking for a creative outlet. And if there’s something you’d like to see, a class or a workshop you’re interested in, let me know!

Let me reassure you that a career in art is as interesting, as challenging and as satisfying as it’s always been. The tools have changed, it’s true. The skills that a professional artist/graphic designer must have today are intimately tied to computer programs and applications- and recognizing that, let me tell you  about the “duCret difference”.

Good design is good design. The medium could be anything from house paint to blog widgets, from a printed brochure to a short animated video. Things that are designed well share some basic characteristics: they have an aesthetic, and they’re functional- they do the job they were design for. They can be simple or complex, gentle, outre, but they all present their message clearly.

DuCret students acquire the tools to do just that- to present their unique message clearly. We give you the tools to let your talent take your message- and make a remarkable life from it.

And so, the medium you choose- digital or otherwise – is less important than the fact that you have the basic fundamental grounding as a designer that seems to be missing in so many artists that are merely excellent at a particular computer program.

I invite you to call me today to see about getting the “duCret difference” for yourself. 908 757-7171
