Graphic Design presents many exiting opportunities in an increasingly complex visual environment. The object of the graphic design program is to provide the student with the traditional techniques, visual theory, and computer technology for career possibilities as designers and art directors in the area of visual communication. The classroom experience is geared to prepare the student with skills necessary to execute assignments in layout, design, and typography, and to prepare visual media for print.

The students are also guided in the preparation of professional quality portfolio samples that will prepare the graduate for entry level into the graphic design field working in design studios, advertising agencies, newspapers, television, corporate and retail art departments, and printing firms and publishers, as well as being self-employed freelance designers.
