The duCret School of Art recently underwent a management change, as longtime Director Frank Falotico retired from his post of nearly 4 decades of managing the school. With a dedicated and seasoned new configuration of staff, duCret will not only carry on in the traditional methods of art education, but will also be expanding into several exciting and new venues in art education. duCret not only serves as an educative and career resource vehicle for those seeking to enter the visual arts industry, it is also an art center, with several seasonal opportunities that are offered to the general public. This includes Open Studios, Kids and Teens Art Classes and Summer Season Workshops for kids through adults. Below is a taste of some of the community endeavors duCret hosted or took part in, in 2016.

Building Restoration UPDATE:  2016 - 2017

Help Support the duCret School of Art!

As in the past we deeply appreciate your thoughtful and generous contributions to duCret over the years. Your support has enabled us to continue providing students of all ages the high quality and uniquely personal art education the duCret School has become known for. The flexibility that these unrestricted funds provide the school is the key to sustaining educational quality as well as a balance budget during these challenging times. With the ever increasing costs of higher education it is more important than ever to have a school like duCret, with its reasonable costs and personalized education to remain an option for those individuals who want to prepare for a career in the visual arts industry.

Since our last contact we have installed a new fire alarm system throughout the building, replacing one that was more than 50 years old. The new system meets the very latest fire and ADA codes and provides the school with much greater coverage. Restoration construction of the side porte-cochere also began. This will be the beginning of what we hope will be the complete restoration of the outside of the George A. Strong House (main office area). The School also received approval from the state for a new Interior Design/Decorating program and a 12 week Saturday morning Interior Decorating certificate series.

As with so many arts organizations, the economy has had an adverse effect on funding sources. This negatively affects the budget and resources available to effectively grow and stay competitive.

Your continued support is needed to help keep our efforts alive and moving forward. Your generous contribution will enable many more individuals to develop their skills by studying with the talented and dedicated faculty in the unique and personal environment of the duCret School of Art.

Remember that duCret is a non-profit 501(c) 3 institution, so please add your name to our donor list by making your tax deductible contribution today. Individual support not only sustains our work, it also inspires others to give. In addition, it creates momentum for foundation grants and may be applied as matching funds for public grants. These grantors often look at the number of individual supports like you. It speaks highly of our ability to survive; in essence, every dollar you give has a multiplier effect.
