This course will cover drawing and painting the head. How
to construct the head using planes, forms, proportions and
placement of the features and the effect of light and shade
on the head. In addition, the course encompasses the palette
and complexion of the model; composition using various objects
as they relate to portraiture and how to draw and paint drapery.
The course includes painting the portrait from photographic
reference. Completion of this course will enable the student
to pursue a career in portraiture.

Improve figure drawing skills by studying the underlying
structure of the human form (bone, muscle, tendon and cartilage),
while sharpening observational skills through careful study
of surface form. Work from casts, photos, skeleton, live
models, and overlays of the muscular system as anatomical
information is applied to artistic use.

MARKER RENDERING

A combination class utilizing basic and advanced marker techniques to produce impressive results. The class is designed for both advertising and illustration majors and assignments will be given on an individual project basis. Storyboards, comps, animatics, advertising and editorial illustration will be discussed and applied to produce professional looking portfolio pieces. Magic markers, marker and brush pens will be used in conjunction with watercoors and colored pencils.
