Discovering New Media I

[8 - 11 YRS] Summer Art Camp provides an opportunity for kids to have lots of fun while discovering new methods of visual expression. A variety of mediums and techniques are taught, including: pencil types & shading techniques, basic shapes to human figure and nature objects, cartoon figures, pen and ink, marker and water color, mixed media, gouache and acrylic painting, working with papers and canvas types, collage, clay (air dry and fired), the color wheel, brush types and brush strokes, and more. Please Note: Classes adhere strictly to designated age ranges for learning groups - no exceptions!

Honoring Earth, Plants & Animals! 
July 17 - 21, 2017 (Every weekday)
9:30 am - 2:00 pm

[8 - 11 YRS] Kids are taught to become aware of their environment though the focus of Earth elements, plants, trees, flowers and animals, both domesticated and wild.  Each day new subject matter correlating to developing Eco friendly awareness and Earth friendly habits via a variety of mediums helps to encourage kids toward a sensitivity to the natural environment.  Introduced mediums can be: pencil shading techniques, brush strokes, basic shapes to nature objects, cartoon animals, pen and ink, marker and water color, mixed media, gouache and acrylic painting, collage, clay (air dry and fired). Lessons are designed to complete a project within one session, however certain mediums may require more than one day to complete. Please Note: Classes adhere strictly to designated age ranges for learning groups - no exceptions!

F.A.B. FASHION TEE SHIRT MANIA
July 24 – 28, 2017
9:30 am – 2 pm (Every weekday)
Fee: $199.00 (Mat'ls incl.)

Kids can get wildly creative with their very own Tee-shirt designs using fabric paint, stains and tie-dye methods. Kids will gain basic understandings of the fashion industry by starting with tee- shirt reconstruction and design. This boot camp course will include; special instruction in how to sketch out and design a variety or collection of tops working from one basic tee-shirt format and will lead to a final product that kids can proudly wear. The beginnings of how to drape fabrics on the body, including ‘no sew’ techniques will enable students to practice shawl, body wrap and non sew tutu's and pants. Course also teaches acceptance and confidence building. Additional exercises include: learning runway walking and poses, styling for a fashion show (includes hairstyle, makeup and accessories), and creating a final collaborative fashion show in tandem with the teen fashion boot camp.

Advanced Techniques I

[12 - 15 YRS]  Each day of the week there will be a different medium taught by a different teacher. This exposes teens to a variety of instruction, mediums and art interpretation. Art camp introduces individuals to advanced techniques and foundation skills in figure, portrait, cartooning, fashion illustration, landscape and nature elements. Mediums of study can include: graphite, charcoal, pastel, oil pastels, water color, acrylic, mixed media, ceramics or sculpture, photography and video or computer art. An emphasis on developing portfolio pieces for college entry is done in a very fun and project oriented way.

Eco Messaging & Sustainable Art
July 17 - 21, 2017 (Every weekday)

[12 - 15 YRS] Teen camp encourages individuals to explore their soul dreams while developing, designing and creating art with a 'message' of Earth awareness and sustainability. Teens are introduced to advanced techniques and foundation art skills while developing futuristic and yet, realistic dreamscapes using the value of sustainability in each art project. Emphasis is placed on color theory, color mixing, graduated tones and values, photographic quality duplication skills, and application differences between various paint mediums and surfaces. Mediums of study can include: graphite, charcoal, pastel, oil pastels, oil, water color, acrylic, mixed media, ceramics or sculpture, photography or computer art. An emphasis on developing mission statement portfolio pieces for college entry is done in a fun and project oriented way.

Design a Fashion Outfit or Start a Fashion Line! Work with F.A.B. (Fashion Against Bullying) Founder Terri Todd to imagine, design and create fashion outfits just like real world designers do!  Gain basic understandings of the fashion design industry from start to finish. This boot camp course will include; the creation of fashion sketches to present your own unique designs, creating your own fabric prints with tie-dye or Batik methods, ‘no sew’ outfit draping, wrapping and finishing techniques, mixing textures, block colors and material prints with a designing eye, photographing and preparing your design(s) for portfolio presentation. Course teaches acceptance and confidence building.
