[Foundation] What makes a painting, graphic design image or abstract work interesting? How can your created merchandise attract more sales - when in the design stage? This class introduces fundamental design concepts, focusing on problem solving with the basic elements of line, shape, pattern, rhythm, color, texture and volume - in order to create eye catching and memorable pieces of artwork, no matter what the application. Students will learn the varied properties and qualities of each element as applied to 2D and 3D solutions in visual art.

Develop a photographic eye as you learn the basics of digital photography, set-up, break down of equipment and the basics of a studio design. Course activities also include the key elements photography: composition, focal point, texture and shape.
